Girls Night - Episode 2

Girls Night! - Let's see what these blonde white girls got.  I was not impressed with the girls during the preliminary shows so one of these girls is going to have to really stand out or else it will be another Boy's Year!

Rubric 4 – Loved It!, 3 – Good!,  2 – OK!, 1 – Horrible!

(1) Chelsea - That was really awful!

(2) Erika - Patricia Arquette is now a singer?  How can you take a heart song and make it lower?  This was not very entertaining, though.  She just stayed at the same range.  YOU NEVER HOLD BACK ON NIGHT ONE when half go home?!

(2) Jen - She was so much better in preliminaries, but honestly, after that I wouldn't be surprised if she goes home.  Not even close to Adele.  She should have stayed with jazz.

(2+) Brielle - she is actually the least boring of the these girls (and these are some BORING girls) but honestly, her crazy mother and her ridiculous attitude has to go.  I would be SHOCKED if  America likes her!  But then again, at the rate of these singers, she could slide in.  I will give that she is quirky, which is good.

(3+) Hallie - Finally a charismatic girl who can sing!  and yet, I'm still not blown away!

(4) Skylar - I actually really liked her energy.  Voice - not so much, but this NEW Reba was super fun and I loved her sparkly dress!

(2) Baylie - Pretty girl...but this was a pretty lackluster performance of a powerful song...and this trend of NUDE shoes with colorful dresses has to go.  Paula and Nicole were totally grossing me out on X Factor with it and Bailey's look was icky too.  There is nothing wrong with silver, black, or colored shoes. DON'T LIKE NUDE SHOES!

(4) Hollie - WOAH!  This was actually really good! A new Christina Aguilera?!  This time nude shoes didn't bother me as much because they A. weren't shiny patent leather and B. her dress was nude so it matched!

(3+) Haley - This beautiful girl with the best hair in the competition gave a very strange but intersting performance.   I oddly liked her...but kind of Florence and the Machine (who I don't really like).  I don't think Randy knew what she was trying to do.

(2) Shannon - Am I watching Miss America talent competition...seriously?  That dress was pretty for a pageant but this ridiculous Christian song and her smaltzy singing was really annoying.  She did make me pay attention though, but not really in a good way. umm...Randy - Haley was better. Just sayin...omg btw Shannon made me dislike her so much more when she talked about the song being in her "crawl"...uggghhhh.

(I'm missing Simon Cowell right now.  He would be ripping these girls apart! ugh...)

(4+) Jessica - This girl with be with the boys for a LONG time.  I love her!  She is way better than our last filipina Jasmine Trias!

(2) Elise - (NOTE: Stop doing Adele Everyone...but even worse, she sang the same song as Jen...that's just crazy.  Has that ever been done before?  The judges are loopy for thinking that was good, but I must say she is kind of sweet.

Standouts - Jessica, Skylar, and Hollie...but I'm going out on a limb to say that Haley was really interesting and Shannon was really gross.  Chelsea and Baylie were also pretty awful.  I expected Jen to dominate, but unfortunately Elise's performance (although pretty bad sounding) might have trumped Jen.  Could they both make it?  I think only with the judges wildcard.

Boys Night - Episode 1

American Idol Season 11 – FIRST NIGHT OF COMPETITION HAS BEGUN…

BOYS NIGHT!

Rubric 4 – Loved It!, 3 – Good!,  2 – OK!, 1 – Horrible!

(2) Reed – this jazzy version of Moves Like Jagger was WEIRD!...and Reed is uncomfortable to watch.

(3) Adam – This queen is a great singer but really annoying…tried not to look at him while he was singing.

(1) Deandre – Very off-key…uncomfortable to watch.  And reminds me of Justin Guirini.

(Judges -  You are really not supposed to be cheerleaders (you are JUDGES), so I’m confused why it seems as if you are watching all the practices, coaching through, and then praising all the improvements over the week – stupid!) (J.Lo – you are still beautiful and I love you) (Steven – you are neither annoying nor entertaining – that’s not really a compliment…or a diss.)  (Randy why don’t you stop bragging about 11 seasons and start talking about the coworkers you used to have – Brian Dunkleman, Simon, Paula, Kara, and Ellen – you can’t, can you?!  I guess all you can do is boast then…)

(3) Colton – said we would be surprised, then was predictable.  Also awkward!  But sadly the best of the night so far. Yikes.

(4) Jeremy – I was not expecting to like this guy, but I was very surprised by how likable he was and how fantastic this performance was…not vocally perfect, but a fantastic song choice!  I was expecting this to be the most awkward and it ended up being the least so far!

(J.Lo – stop making that pained face when you don’t mean it)  (American Idol – thank you for making fun of J.Lo after just a few minutes of her making that stupid face.) J

(2) Aaron  - Kind of boring yet got a standing ovation.  I guess the thing he has going for him is his schooled focused voice.  The fact that he said “I’m just a regular dude” was irritating.  How does he know what he is…that’s for us to decide.  These type of singers often go home early.

(1) Chase – Horrible song, Horrible singing…he reminded me of David Hasselhoff with way more make-up!

(4) Creighton – Weird…but in a good way. I liked it.  He is unique.

(4) Phillip – I would say this is probably the sexiest performance of the night.  Oh yeah.  I wonder what Dave Matthews thinks of his voice being stolen by this boy.  I think he might win the show.

(1) Eben – This was a Beiber-wannabe disaster.

(J.Lo – singing out of tune is NOT FINE.  Someone needs to tell these judges to start reading the rules and doing their job.  Steven, don’t use the word “straight” voice when speaking of these male singers.  It’s probably inaccurate.)

(4+) Heejun – I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT HEEJUN!!!!!! – wow, judges, you couldn’t really find anything great say. UGGGGHHHHH…….NOW, you decide to judge????????????

(4+) Joshua – I thought this was really fantastic.  What an amazing voice and great stature.  He probably should win!

(2) Jermaine – pretty boring.  Did not need to bring him back.

Winners – Heejun and Joshua!  Jeremy, Creighton, and Phillip will round out the Top 5 – if America is smart!
