Top 12-1=11 - Night 6

The night started out with drama and controversy as Ryan mentioned one contestant was elliminated last night due to some legal/police issue.  I immediately think it's Jermaine as I have always thought he was crazy loco and very strange...possibly a criminal...I think so...however, to add drama we didn't see the now Top 11 so that we would wonder who it is as the night goes on.

Theme - The Year You Were Born!  This theme is really starting to make me feel REALLY old as 1995 is the newest year (I was in high school!!!) and 1983 was the earliest (I was already in elementary school)...but with that said I do understand that American Idol is a show only for teenagers and 20-somethings.

3 = Phillip -  Phillip sounded great tonight but he wasn't very exciting.  Judges loved him.

3+ = Jasmine - She had a lot to live up to after last week.  In her sparkly pants she redid soap opera star Diana Degarmo's American Idol moment with Gloria Estefan's Turn the Beat Around...She might have outsung Diana but it didn't have the "emotional content"...I really actually enjoyed this performance (hearing Jennifer Hudson and seeing Beyonce at times)...but again, it wasn't as good.  The judges were harsh on her and honestly it was way better than the judges made it out to be.

4 = Heejun - I WANT HIS ALBUM NOW!!!  Right Here Waiting was a perfect song for him and he made me get all teary eyed with this rendition. LOVED IT!  What is the wrong with the judges...they actually like Phillip better than this fantastic performance?  At least Jennifer liked it.  Part of my love for HeeJun though is my personal crush on him. sigh...oh, and I LOVE his parents.

3- = Elyse - I just don't know what to think of this girl.  She is so awkward and has the most bizarre not very good voice...and yet she is kind of exciting, and makes me want to watch what monstrosity she is going to wear (a very odd sparkly ill fitting black dress and non-matching jewels).  Of course because it was kind of good, the judges loved it.  Seriously - Heejun and Jasmine way out-performed Elyse, but the judges are making it seem like she is better.  I don't get it.

just to say...Jermaine has to be on...will my prediction be correct?

3 = Deondre - Interesting parents...as most people already know Deondre is one of my least favorite people, because his voice is not that great AND he has major diva-attitude which is not cute on this show.  Tonight he was Kenny G singing Endless Love.   However, it was his best performance yet.  I have to give him credit and I think he should stay another week.  Damn, next that nasty "crawl" girl is going to be good. ugh.  Surprisingly, the judges didn't like it...I disagree. It was a great song for him.  The problem is when he does "do him" I don't like him.

2 = Shannon -  "Crawl" - So I can't stand her parents and never have but thought it was interesting that they are adding in that her father played for the Cardinals.  Then, after Jasmine said she 1995 didn't give her much to work with, Shannon says she had an interesting mix and tons to work with.  Jimmy hawked some product to play Don't Speak (an amazing song) and Shannon chooses Mariah's One Sweet Day.  Don't speak could have given her a cool cred.  Instead she will most likely just ruin this rnb ballad.  and...ugh it was pretty bad.  But even more awful was the terrible background and her gold shorts, black tights and silver flats.  Oh My Lord, even though it wasn't the worst, she is just terrible.  Of course the judges loved her. This is a joke.  America has fallen in love with her???? WHO???

3+ = Colton - should Colton be talking about "hooking up" with Daughtry.  That was a little homo to me. lol. I like Colton's parents...they are super cute looking.  Speaking of homo, Jimmy and Will.i.am. Two years running. nuff said (I'm not saying they are "together" but they are certainly kiki it like two old queens).  Okay back to the competition (haha no Jermain yet)...Colton was AWESOME!  I really love his voice and his style on this show.  He is not super exciting but he always seems to wake me up in his own way.  And for this show, that is very important.  I hope he goes a long way!  I agreed with Randy that the song didn't matter if he could really sing it well and make it his own (I also didn't know the song and feel American Idol needs more original music).

3 = Erika - Ahh, I like her mom and I think she chose a great song for her.  I am not sure what I think about her new make-over (weird) and the way they changed the song (weirder)...I think Erika could be in trouble.  Singing good doesn't matter if everything else is off...this time the judges were on...um J.Lo she is nothing like Janis Joplin (at least not in this competition)...um J.Lo would you give props to the stylists if the stylists styled YOU?  I think not.  And that arrangement was AWFUL - I agree with Randy on that one.

I KNEW IT!!!! Jermaine Jones!!!!  From his first audition I just felt something was very off about him in a creepy shady kind of way.  DRAMA!  He had four charges on him and lied about his name twice...but omg he did sound amazing...he would have gotten a 4 from me based on that rehearsal performance (and I love that song!)

3+ = Skyler - What a cute baby!  and naughty! lol (scary).  I will say the stylists do Skylar fantastically.  She always looks so great!  This song wasn't quite right though for her voice.  Still like her though!  She got a plus for her presence!

4 = Joshua - I'm a huge fan of Joshua.  His voice, style, presence, etc.  But I'm a little worried about him in this competition.  Fantasia is the only church voice to ever win. I just worry the voters aren't feelin' him.  He deserves to be in the show though and I really hope he doesn't go home.  Now...why did the judges go so cray cray?  Best of American Idol???

4- = Hollie - Her parents were cute.  Power of Love is such a great song.  She did such an awesome job and I liked her interesting evening gown.  Not a great ending though but that's okay.

My top 3 - Jasmine, Hollie, and Heejun

Bottom - Shannon, Deondre, and Erika

The judges loved Joshua but I can see America turning on them and sending him home.  Hopefully Heejun is safe as he did not have the judges back this week.
